Delhi Greens wishes everyone a Happy International Day of Biological Diversity 2019. On this day, we are releasing two posters for raising awareness for conserving biodiversity.
Biodiversity is the essence of life and human survival depends directly on biodiversity. Yet, we need to do much more to protect the diversity of animals and plants around us, especially since a recent UN report suggests that 1 million species are about to go extinct around us.
The first Poster focuses on the Great Indian Bustard of which only less than 250 individuals are left in the wild today.
Scientific Name: Ardeotis nigriceps
IUCN Status: Critically Endangered

The second Poster focuses on the Pink-headed Duck, which has not been sighted by anyone with evidence since the 1950s.
Scientific Name: Rhodonessa caryophyllacea
