📄 Wetlands Factsheet (English)
On 2nd February 2019, World Wetlands Day, this factsheet on the importance of wetlands was released by Delhi Greens at the Yamuna Biodiversity Park to raise awareness about the critical role wetlands play, particularly for the city of Delhi.
The factsheet was prepared by members of a project focused on creating an online interactive inventory of wetlands in Delhi, and was edited by Dr. Govind Singh.
Wetlands are often referred to as the “kidneys of the ecosystem” for their role in filtering pollutants and maintaining ecological balance. Yet, their value remains underappreciated, leading to their rapid degradation.
