Chimoitim Maku Phairong was Green Youth Fellow 2019 with Delhi Greens. She was then pursuing her Master’s degree in Political Science at the University of Delhi. Chimoitim exhibited devotion to the protection and preservation of traditional knowledge, cultural and biological diversity of India as part of this Fellowship with Delhi Greens.

Chimoitim completed her graduation from St. Philomena’s College which is affiliated to the University of Mysore. She is very enthusiastic about learning and archiving cultural practices and folklore of different communities. As a student from Northeast India, Chimoitim takes a special interest in exploring the beauty and diversity of the Northeast region through literature and field expeditions.

Chimoitim has been previously associated with Delhi Greens as a coordinator for the Essay and Photography Competition and as Project Assistant with the Organising Team of the fourth Delhi Youth Summit on Climate Change (DYSoC 2018). She is happy to have realized her interest in the field of Environment through her association with Delhi Greens and is now highly motivated to use her knowledge and skills for environmental protection and biodiversity conservation.
