Delhi Greens collaborated with Manipur-based NECEER organisation to organise Worldwide Save Loktak Lake Campaign on 7 March 2010. Loktak Lake is the largest freshwater lake found in North-east India and is known as the lifeline of the people of Manipur.

Loktak Lake is located in Bishnupur district of the Imphal Valley in Manipur. It is facing the threat from encroachment, pollution and adoption of non-traditional and destructive methods of fishing. This is shrinking the Loktak Lake and is also pushing its main inhabitant, the dancing deer Sangai (Rucervus eldii eldii) towards extinction.

The Worldwide Save Loktak Lake Campaign raised awareness about the plight of this lake across the globe. It urged the locals and the State Government to act to protect the Loktak Lake.
